Methodology
Every figure on Climatch links back to this page. This is where each number comes from — and what it can and cannot tell you.
Data sources
ERA5 reanalysis and CMIP6 projections via Open-Meteo, plus institutional sources for livability. Each dataset will be documented in detail as it ships.
The 2016–2025 window
All climate normals are computed over 2016–2025: recent enough to reflect today’s climate, long enough to smooth out the odd freak year.
What counts as a pleasant day
Daily high between 18 and 29 °C, low of at least 8 °C, no significant rain and no strong wind. The exact thresholds will be published here.
Feels-like temperature
Comfort bands that combine temperature, humidity and wind — because a dry 32 °C is not a humid 32 °C.
The 2050 projection
A projection, not a prediction: CMIP6 model deltas with a min–max band that shows where the models disagree.
